TeamKill Media confirmed that Quantum Error currently runs at 2K 60FPS on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X and S platforms.Developed by veteran studio KT Racing, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown certainly sounds like an incredibly meaty undertaking, with a host of highly realistic licensed vehicles burning rubber through what has been touted as a meticulous “1:1” recreation of the entirety of Hong Kong Island. Interactive cancelled the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Gotham Knights, and Nacon cancelled the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. ![]() The cancellation of the PS4 version of Quantum Error follows a trend of developers moving away from last-gen consoles. They mentioned a boss fight in Quantum Error that relies on instantaneous level swapping, which could be hindered by the slower SSD speed on Xbox. TeamKill Media had previously discussed the challenges of utilizing the PS5’s SSD compared to the Xbox Series consoles. TeamKill Media expressed their disappointment in a tweet, saying, “Even with the game being made from the beginning for the PS5, we still had hopes we could make a PS4 version happen, but with the level of quality we have achieved with QE with gameplay running at 60fps, we have reached the conclusion that there is no way for us to deliver a version on PS4 that would live up to what the PS5 is going to deliver.”Īccording to the team, creating a PS4 version would require significant downgrading and altering of assets and lighting, resulting in a vastly different experience compared to the PS5 version. Initially announced for release on both PS4 and PS5 in early 2020, an Xbox Series X and S version was later added, along with a PC version still in development. Quantum Error is a first-person shooter game in the genre of cosmic horror. The team stated that the PS5 version runs at 60 frames per second and creating a comparable version for the PS4 would be impossible. The decision is due to the difficulty of achieving the same level of quality as the PlayStation 5 version. TeamKill Media, the developer of Quantum Error, has announced the cancellation of the PlayStation 4 version of the game. ![]()
