I emailed N with pictures on 7 23 20 and he stated "I see what you mean. I was shocked That would have been a decision for my husband and I to make not the installer. Finally after 8 months of waiting the window came and after it was installed I told the guy that was installing it that the window was much smaller that the previous one His answer was "you would have to pay more". We continued to pay installments as we were directed. Then few months later another guy came and measured the window a second time. N came and measured the window, gave us an estimate and how to pay for it and told us it will take close to 12 weeks. In December 2019 our bathroom cracked so we called Clear view Window mostly because it was advertised on a Christian based radio station. It looks as though we are going to have to wait for an MHIC hearing to have the full $8,400.00 refunded. We still need siding and Clearview says it will be another "few months" from now November 2020, before they can schedule installation. We have given this company every opportunity to make things right and do the job for which they were hired. We only learned of the 5 October date AFTER 5 October had already passed. Their response to the MHIC was that they tried to schedule install for the week of 5 October (20 weeks past the contracted estimate start of 8-10 weeks) but, that they didn't hear back from us in time. Only after filing a complaint, with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC),which we told them we were going to do, did They pretend to schedule installation. Materials aren't doing me any good sitting in a warehouse. We requested a refund and were informed that we would only receive half of our deposit as materials had already been ordered. We get it, COVID hit however, we have been more than patient as confirmed by the lawyer we spoke with. Once we handed Clearview the $8,400.00 required for siding deposit we have not had one instance of them reaching out to us with updates or explanation for delays. However, here we are 5 months from window installation and still no siding or date for installation. The window installer went as far as to say that Sam told him not to seal the windows because we were having siding installed and it all should be sealed together. Windows were installed in June, 2 months after the contract estimated date and only after many calls and messages from us and days waiting to hear from anyone from Clearview. Clearview's estimate was $4,000.00 higher than the company we hired but, we agreed to move forward with Clearview for the promise of a tighter sealed home with simultaneous installation of both windows and siding. H******* convinced us that having them installed together would create a "better seal". Sam H*******, President of the company, made several trips to our house prior to us signing any contracts, then promptly disappeared. We purchased siding in early March 2020, and still don't have a date for installation. Sadly to say, spend your money elsewhere.Ä«uyer beware, do not give your hard earned money to CLEARVIEW WINDOW & DOOR COMPANY. I would ignore all of the good reviews and strongly consider going elsewhere. As a homeowner, its so hard to find a good, honest, and quality contractor. Was told over 1 week ago by a staff member that she would expedite these right away, but that has not been the case. They have contacted me several times since the job was completed for payment/financing info, but they have not be as communicative about resolving these issues. They literally destroyed a tropical plant in front of our house during window installation and the workers were totally nonchalent about it. No excuses for treating customers this way. I originally told the sales person about this back on 12/12 and formally on 121/19. Also, they left debris of wood, nails, etc from their job back on 12/8 and the debris is still in my yard today. Deck stairs were done uprofessionally and I sent pictures to the company. Took nearly 1 month after window instatllation to get warranty info when it should have been handed to my immediately after installation. Prior to installation, 74 was sufficient. Have to turn temp up to 78+ to sit comfortably in rooms without feeling wind drafts. House has been very drafty since new windows have been installed for my small townhome. I am not satisfied with either and have expressed my concerns to the company over 1 week ago and have not heard back on implementing a plan to resolve asap. I went with Clearview because of them working on my deck stairs as well. I recommend really looking at the negative reviews on various websites. READ THIS: I believe reviews on company websites can be subjective in their favor and biased.
